Bill Hicks was a groundbreaking, thought provoking comedian who died from pancreatic cancer at the tender age of 32. The New Yorker magazine described him as "A renegade comic genius in a class all his own."
To commemorate the 14th year of his passing, Gotham is proud to present In The Spirit of Bill: A Tribute To Bill Hicks. Produced by New York City comedienne Luchia, with the Blessing of the Hicks family, the purpose of the show is to honor Bill’s memory, promote his work and raise money for The Bill Hicks Foundation For Wildlife Rehabilitation. This unique, non-profit organization provides aid to animals that are sick, orphaned or injured.
Hosted by Jesse Joyce, this tribute includes some excellent footage of Bill on stage along with live performances by Ted Alexandro and Greg Giraldo.
