May 15th - Gabriel Iglesias

Gabriel "Picachu" Iglesias' style of comedy is a mixture of story telling with characters and sound effects that bring all his personal issues to life. His amazing ability to cross over with a clean animated style of comedy has put him in big demand throughout the stand-up comedy circuit. Ask anyone who has seen him in concert and you will probably hear the same thing, "He was so funny!"Gabriel, one of the rising stars in the recent boom of Latino comedians, was put on the map by the Galavision TV show, "Que Locos!". This highly successful television comedy hour quickly spawned into a nationwide tour of sold-out performances across the country. The experience not only helped to develop Gabriel's loyal fan base, but also led to additional film and television roles. He has guest-starred on ABC's "My Wife & Kids," Showtime's "Resurrection Boulevard" and was involved in the WB pilot for "Deez Nuts". His stand-up has been featured on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Good Morning America," "Showtime at the Apollo" and BET's "Comic View" to name a few. On the big screen, he has been seen in the independent film "El Matador," and coming in 2005, Gabriel will star in "The Surfer King," where he will play the role of Aokee, the manager of a water park Surf and Snack Shack.Known as the "fluffy" comic in the Hawaiian shirt, the 27-year old funny man often riffs about his girthy middle - whether it's talking about how little dancing it takes for him to work up a sweat at the nightclub, or how hearing his girlfriend coo the words "chocolate cake" over the telephone works for him like phone sex.Gabriel performs stand-up nightly while spreading his positive message of laughter by day at high schools. He includes in his punch lines messages about the hazards of alcohol and the importance of voting. In 2000, Gabriel won a Kid's Choice Award for the Nickelodean TV show "All That." He then won the Comedy Central & Comcast Cable's Comedy Special of the year in 2003 and in 2004 & 2005 was voted into the Top 25 of Comedy Central's Standup Showdown. The youngest of six children, Gabriel spent his first five years living on the eastside of Chula Vista. By the age of eight Gabriel and his mother were on their own and making a fresh start in the city of Long Beach. One night Gabriel's mother took him to the local video store where he rented a comedy tape starring Eddie Murphy. Two weeks later he was motivated to audition for his 5th grade talent show and to his surprise he was the hit of the show. Gabriel's silly voices and characters left the audience in stitches and his dream of becoming a comedian was born. Eleven years later a friend of his pushed a very scared Gabriel Iglesias back onto a stage for the first time in over a decade. April 10th of 2005 will mark the eight-year anniversary of the day Gabriel made his dream of becoming a comedian a reality."I get my material from things that happen every day," he says, using his 10-year high school reunion as an example. "I had too much to drink and I made an ass of myself. When they asked 'Who has been on TV?,' one of the girls handed me a mic. I said, 'I see three or four girls who turned me down in high school. But you know what? You girls got fat and now I drive a Hummer.' One of the girls tells me, 'You're fat too!' And I said, 'I was always fat. I kept my figure, why couldn't you?' It was the conversation of the night. I don't use writers. I use real life."In his debut CD entitled, "Picachu… I See You," Gabriel talks about hanging out with his buddies. He does not want to be labeled as a 'Latino Comedian.' "It's just going to be funny. It won't have an all-Latino audience. It's going to be modern. I want to show people that Latinos are here, but we don't have to be stereotypical."Also Scheduled to PerformWilliam Stephenson, The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart$22 Cover + 2 Beverage Minimum per Person(Thurs & Sun)$25 Cover + 2 Beverage Minimum per Person(Fri & Sat)

One of the finest and more cerebral comics around, Jake is a regular on David Letterman with over forty appearances and he has been on "The Tonight Show" more than ten times. His HBO special "This'll Take About An Hour" was critically acclaimed and earned Jake an Ace Award nomination for Best Writing in an Entertainment Special.
Jun 20th - Aries Spears

Ever since Chicago native Aries Spears was 14 years old, he has been a force to be reckoned with in the comedy scene throughout America. His quick wit, charisma and ferociously aggressive style of comedy have earned him critical acclaim, high accolades, and above all, a busy schedule. From being a regular on Fox’s Mad TV, starring in feature films, appearing on a number of national talk shows, and continually touring the country with his stand-up, Aries’s talents are becoming recognized and appreciated throughout the entertainment industry. As a principal cast member on Fox’s hit sketch comedy show Mad TV, Aries brought a fresh, hip style to the already-edgy program from the third through the tenth season. The producers made full use of many of Aries’s talents by calling on him frequently to create new hilarious characters and write sketches. Some of the many recurring characters that Aries is famous for on the show include: Belma Buttons, Bill Cosby, Jesse Jackson, Mike Tyson, Walter (Crackheads), Reggie (Erascist), Dollar Bill Montgomery, Shaquille O'Neal, The Klumps, Michael Jackson, Sisqo, Evander Holyfield, El Diablo Negro and more. Aries also boasts a number of uproarious impersonations on the show that include James Brown, Al Pacino, and his childhood idol Eddie Murphy. The Aries-branded sketch “Talkin’ American” was Mad TV’s most popular bit, keeping fans tuned in and boosting Mad’s ratings impressively on Saturday night. Aries has also found great success in the world of feature films. At the age of 17, after being spotted in a comedy club, Aries landed a part in the movie Home of Angels, which also starred Abe Vigoda and Sherman Helmsley, but never saw a theatrical release. He then appeared in Out-of-Sync, and portrayed Red Foxx in Warner Bros.’s Why Do Fools Fall In Love. In addition, Aries starred alongside John Leguizamo in TriStar’s The Pest and delivered his most notable performance to date as Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s brother in Columbia’s blockbuster hit Jerry Maguire. Aries was born on April 3, 1975 in Chicago but grew up in New Jersey. He remembers at the young age of six being the funnyman of the household and impersonating family members at the dinner table during holidays. By age 14, Aries was belting out his fresh stylings in front of paying audiences at local clubs around his hometown. Shortly thereafter, he appeared on Russell Simmons’s Def Comedy Jam on HBO and Showtime at the Apollo. The word was out about the prodigal superstar from then on, and in 1992, Aries moved to Los Angeles. He quickly landed a recurring role on NBC’s A Different World, and was signed to a huge development deal at one of the major television studios. The following year, Aries found himself starring in the short-lived CBS series South of SunsetCrosstown Traffic and Brisco County, Jr. with former Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey. Although the series didn’t last long, it did not discourage other networks from tapping Aries’s talents for their projects, as he soon appeared in for Fox. Ultimately, Aries’s fierce momentum landed him on Mad TV as a series regular, where he thrived for eight seasons. Aries continues to spread his comedic wings with the development of feature film projects, which he is currently involved in writing. He is presently developing a feature project based on an original character that he created on Mad TV, as well as a thriller about a young black man immersed in hip-hop culture. Additionally, Aries has made appearances on many talk shows including: Loveline, Vibe, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Soul Train, and Late Friday. He has also lent his voice to an animated character on C-Bear and Jamal and had a recurring stint on Fox’s The Best Damn Sports Show Period, where he created some of the show’s funniest characters during his short time there. Aries maintains a strong connection to his African roots and is involved in many charitable events, including a number of organizations that help abused women. He feels blessed to have been able to achieve everything that he has, but he in no way intends on stopping there. Given the extreme growing success rate of action comedies coming out of Hollywood, it’s safe to say that Aries Spears will be in demand for quite some time. $22 Cover +2 Beverage Minimum per Person

Jun 27th - Ben Bailey

Currently the host of the hit show "Cash Cab" on Discovery Channel, Ben Bailey started out as a class clown. Never quite able to fit into the so called regular routine Bailey moved to California when he was twenty-one. After looking for work for a few months he finally landed a job answering the phones at "The Comedy Store" on Sunset Boulevard. One night after work he had a few drinks and watched a show. After the show Ben hung around a while and got to swapping stories with some of the comedians. His story must have been a good one, because one of the guys who heard it asked him how long he'd been doing stand-up and invited him to perform on his show that Friday night. Petrified; Bailey said no, but luckily the guy left his number. The next afternoon it occurred to Bailey that he really had nothing going on, ...maybe this was what he was looking for. He anxiously called and agreed to do the show. That Friday Ben performed for the first time, and when he got his first laugh, he was hooked. Ten years later Bailey has performed all over the world, done his own 1/2 hour special on Comedy Central, landed a recurring role on the classic soap "One Life To Live" and been seen on The Tonight show with Jay Leno, the Late Late show with Craig Kilborn, Last Call with Carson Daly, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The World Stands Up, and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. He has performed at the Aspen Comedy Arts Festival in 2002 and again in 2004 while promoting the movie "Bad Meat" in which he plays an FBI agent. He has appeared at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000 and again in 2004 as well as the Masters show at the Montreal Just for Laughs festival in 2005. Bailey has guest starred on the shows Hope & Faith on ABC, Law and Order SVU and MAD TV. $22 Cover + 2 Beverage Minimum per Person

Born in the Bronx and raised throughout various parts of New York, Dean's travels have made it easy for him to communicate with all walks of life. His career began over a decade ago in a college talent show. Always the multi-tasker, Dean divided his college career between classes, and a 6 year term in the U.S. Army reserves. Although his fellow soldier's loved his impression of their drill sergeant, Dean spent many an afternoon doing push-ups for his comedic talent. After graduating with a degree in communications, Dean began performing more often and has since earned a reputation as a headlining favorite. Club & college crowds nationwide consider him a hot new talent on the rise. His comedic approach is reminiscent of Will Smith because of his mainstream appeal to all audiences. Ironically, his first Big Break was on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam, a show reknowned for it's blue humor. Subsequently, he was a featured comedian on Showtime at the Apollo a few years later. Dean followed his t.v. appearances with some commercial work and even worked with Spike Lee on the Original Kings of Comedy feature film. After 2 seasons on Saturday Night Live, Dean has already made his mark with such memorable impressions as Michael Jackson and Denzel Washington and original characters such as "Man in elevator" and "Cop#2". Dean has pushed himself to the limits of creativity and exhaustion, juggling his SNL career, his numerous standup appearances (including his recent appearance on Comedy Central's USO Comedy Tour), and his childhood goal as UN goodwill ambassador to Lesotho. After more than a decade of comedy, Dean feels he's just getting started... ...and in more good news, Dean's 1983 application to Wal-mart has been approved. Fortunately, he's found work elsewhere.$22 Cover +2 Beverage Minimum per Person

Jul 18th - Lenny Marcus

Originally from Oceanside, Long Island, Mr. Marcus has been watching comedy since he can remember. He used to beg his parents to let him stay up past his bedtime and watch the Carol Burnett show. A few years later he vividly remembered his mom yelling at him for doing his homework while watching Evening at the Improv. After college Lenny worked as a computer programmer for EDS for over ten years. His title was, Advanced Systems Engineer. His attitude when it comes to corporate America is poor. Somewhere in the middle of the long hours in a suit, he got the nerve to be a standup comedian. Who needs money, health insurance, food and vacations, when you can tell jokes to drunks at 2am and make twenty dollars? Anyway, his new career has been fun.
