The First Annual New Comedians Special (A TV Taping)
From 1976 to 1995, "the Young Comedians Special" was arguably the ultimate launching pad for emerging comics. Unknowns including Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, Robin Williams, Jay Leno and Pee-wee Herman each made the transition from struggling comedian to overnight sensation, thanks to just one memorable set.
Now more than 25 years later, Dave Juskow and Gotham Comedy Club are ready to reinvent the format, bringing you five unknown and relatively young comedians–each on the verge of hitting it big. What each of these comics share is a unique perspective and the courage to carve their own paths to success and stardom.
